Have You Seen Bessie?
 My name is Dirk Vander Ploeg, and I am the editor and publisher of this website. Some of you may have visited one of my other websites: UFO Digest. I have lived on the North Shore of Lake Erie for the past 12 years. I'll admit that until I moved here I had never heard of a lake monster in Lake Erie. But since moving into our cottage I have heard many stories of strange objects including animals that are spotted occasionally amid the moving waves. Lake Erie, as one of the five Great Lakes is visited by millions of people annually. If you are planning a visit make sure you bring a camera or a camera phone. Thanks Dirk.

 This 31" creature was found on the shore of Lake Erie and mounted by taxidermist Pete Peterson. It is currently at the Creation Evidences Museum in Glen Rose, Texas. (254-897-3200) The creature has yet to be identified. Visit Dr.Dino.com.
Did you realize that the lake monster, affectionately known as Bessie, has been spotted in and around Lake Erie since 1817? Over the years, hundreds of witnesses have come forward with tales of what they have seen in or around the lake. The purpose of this website is to capture evidence that lake monsters exist, and that Bessie and her cousins should be studied by professional zoologists and cryptozoologists.

Mothman and The Thunderbird Separated at Birth?
The Mothman is one of the strangest and most terrifying of anomalous creatures ever to be recorded in America. Between November 12, 1966 and December 15, 1967, it terrorized citizens in the Point Pleasant area of West Virginia. It was said to have been encountered by at least 100 people over the course of that year.

Scientists Surprised by Giant Sea Monsters
Two-third of the Earth's surface is covered with water. The huge water space is still hiding numerous mysteries from people - we know about ocean a lot less than we do about space. Sea animals strike imagination with their size and power. A 15-meter squid was found on Canadian shores in April of the current year. A trailer took the giant animal to a research center. Lake Monster Terrifies Villagers In Ukraine
A huge monster with the head of a serpent and the body of a crocodile is rumored to lurk at the bottom of a lake in Western Ukraine. The monster has been frightening residents of a nearby village for more than one hundred years. Now and again the gruesome creature comes ashore and attacks domestic animals.
